People really need to specify when they’re talking about identical twins specifically, because I feel like that’s what the question was intended to be. Either way, being the Avatar isn’t necessarily genetic, and even identical twins share most of their DNA, they are still different people. It’s not necessarily likely souls function 1:1 with DNA like that, so it can still be possible for only one twin to be the Avatar. Twin Avatars is still a fun concept though.

I hate this story so much and don't take it as canon tbh. They destroyed every character and their dynamic, characterization was messed up in every way. I was critical of Legends of Korra due to its characterization of Team Avatar but at least even that series was not this disrespectful toward its characters.

Most twins aren't born at the same time unless they're C-section babies and even then the possibility of them being born at the exact same time is just not possible they would be at least a couple of seconds or minutes apart and age. The Avatar is the person who is born at the same time that the last Avatar dies so only one of the twins would be able to be born at that exact time, pretty obvious answer tbh.

Yeah using evidence from the live-action does not give you evidence for the animated series. The live-action removed a part of soccer's character in character development by taking away his sexist behavior preventing him from learning and growing out of his sexist behavior and respecting women. And if you want to get rid of Faith then you can't say sokka would even be born the fire nation's war against the rest of the world is basically just a giant world war that massive shift in the timeline would lead the drastic changes. Example sokka and katara's parents never getting together. It's a stupid question in the first place, but if you have to ask it for some reason then OBVIOUSLY the Avatar would be the Avatar and their twin would be an entirely separate person because that's how twins work. I'm very glad that the canon answer is in line with that and this UA-camr has a lot to learn about twins because he clearly thinks they're the same person or cosmicly linked in some way.
